Welcome to our 40th installment of “Ask a Historian”.
Join Historian Matthew Wilkinson on our YouTube channel for our next episode of “Ask A Historian” on Thursday March 11, 2021 at 4:00 p.m.
This week Matthew welcomes renowned architect Michael Spaziani, Principal at MSAi (Michael Spaziani Architect Inc.), as they explore the last 40 years of cultural and architectural development in Mississauga.
Michael is the principal of MSAi, an architectural firm established in 1986. He has received numerous awards and recognition for his work. He has specialized in commercial, retail, waterfront condo developments, and has served as an expert witness for heritage assessments.
Michael is currently an advisor for LPAT (Local Planning Appeal Tribunal) for the Province. He is a member of the City of Mississauga’s Design Review Panel, a Director with the Port Credit Community Foundation, a Director with Heritage Mississauga, a past Director with the Art Gallery of Mississauga, and a past member of the Mississauga Heritage Advisory Committee, amongst numerous other community involvements.
In 2010 Michael was inducted into the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada College of Fellows.
#ApartTogether we look back at the trends, influences, challenges, and a few dead worms that have contributed to the landscape of Mississauga today.
You are invited to email us questions you have about Mississauga and we encourage you to send a short (less than 1 minute) MP4 video of your question, which we may feature in one of our “Ask a Historian” videos.
Any questions not featured in our videos will receive a written response from Matthew.
We would also love to feature questions from young Mississauga residents who are curious about their city and will feature a dedicated video to these inquisitive kids.
