which features presentations and stories of the iconic AVRO Arrow.
The introductory productions,
“The AVRO Arrow: It’s Malton’s History”
and ”
After the Arrow: The Beginning of the Canadian Space Program”,
are presented by renowned engineer and aerospace expert Bill Turner.
Bill Turner was a co-founder of the Aerospace Heritage Foundation of Canada whose illustrious career in engineering, marketing and program development spanned 45 years and included achievements in radar development, navigation and autopilot design as well as designing and testing missile systems. Bill held distinguished positions such as Liaison Officer for the AVRO Arrow weapons system and was the first Canadian representative at NASA.
In our first installment, “The AVRO Arrow: It’s Malton’s History”, Bill Turner discusses the political intrigue and remarkable programs associated with the AVRO Arrow, and the significant contributions Canada made to the aeronautical industry.
Heritage Mississauga is pleased to pull these fascinating productions from our vault and to revisit a momentous time in Mississauga’s history.
