On September 12, 2021 George “Strombo” Stroumboulopoulos joined the echelon of talented Mississauga inductees into the Mississauga Music Walk of Fame.
George Stroumboulopoulos has been a part of our culture for many years as a a television and radio broadcaster, actor, media producer, and humanitarian.
He is respected internationally for his authentic, engaging, and well-researched interviewing style, and he has sat down with celebrities and dignitaries from all over the world.
His Apple Music radio show, STROMBO, is heard in over 165 countries worldwide. He is an award-winning broadcaster who hosted and executive produced the talk shows “George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight” and “The Hour” on Canada’s national broadcaster, the CBC. His past work includes the show, “Stroumboulopoulos” on CNN and as the anchor on “Hockey Night in Canada”. George was also the host of Canada’s premier culture show, “The New Music”.
George is also a self-described “Malton boy, through and through” and he joined us on Ask A Historian to explore the history of street names in his hometown of Malton.
We would like to congratulate George on his well-deserved honour and thank him for doing Malton, and Mississauga, proud!
