Welcome to our 20th installment of “Ask a Historian”.
Every week Heritage Mississauga will be taking questions about the history and heritage of Mississauga which our Historian, Matthew Wilkinson, will answer on Thursday afternoons.
#ApartTogether, Heritage Mississauga is the source for inquiries and curiosity about our beautiful city as we continue our mandate to research, record and celebrate the diverse heritage of Mississauga.
Join Historian Matthew Wilkinson on our YouTube channel Thursday September 3, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. for our latest episode of “Ask a Historian”.
This week Matthew welcomes guests Elizabeth Underhill, Supervisor of Museums and Education at the City of Mississauga, Greg Carraro, Vice President of Heritage Mississauga’s Board of Directors and history teacher, and Richard Collins, Past President of the Mississauga South Historical Society, as they explore the First World War.
Matthew will also answer questions about Mississauga’s aerodrome, life on the homefront during the First World War as well as introduce the new exhibit “Our Boys” opening in partnership with Museums of Mississauga on September 3, 2020.
You are invited to email us questions you have about Mississauga and we encourage you to send a short (less than 1 minute) MP4 video of your question, which we may feature in one of our “Ask a Historian” videos.
Any questions not featured in our videos will receive a written response from Matthew.
We would also love to feature questions from young Mississauga residents who are curious about their city and will feature a dedicated video to these inquisitive kids.
