Cultural Heritage Project
Heritage Mississauga’s Celebrating Mississauga’s Cultural Heritage project began in 2014 to build awareness of our city’s diverse cultural heritage by supporting community partnerships and developing a city-wide cultural network.
Mississauga has changed dramatically since amalgamation and this initiative provides new opportunities for civic engagement in communities, resulting in an increased sense of unity and commonality across the city.
Outcomes of this project include:

The collaboration of cultures celebrates their unique contributions to Mississauga life, providing a new and exciting approach to recording histories and heritage.
Celebrating Mississauga’s Cultural Heritage will give future generations the confidence that a strong cultural identity provides, while ensuring our past local heritage is respected, honoured, and celebrated.
