Explore the Heritage Mississauga Collection

Heritage Mississauga’s collection reflects the stories, communities, and landscapes that have shaped our city. Through artefacts, photographs, documents, and family histories, our collection highlights the people, places, and events that have helped shape Mississauga into the diverse and vibrant community it is today.

Our online collections database provides access to a selection of the items we care for. These artefacts support research, education, and community storytelling, helping us share local histories with residents, students, and visitors. New items are added regularly as we continue to digitize and catalogue the collection.

About the Collection

Heritage Mississauga stewards a wide range of materials connected to Mississauga’s past and present. Our collection includes:

  • Archival records such as letters, maps, scrapbooks, diaries, and community documents.
  • Artefacts representing daily life, local industries, businesses, and cultural traditions.
  • Photographs capturing neighbourhoods, families, and historic moments.
  • Special collections related to early settlement and materials from several of Mississauga’s founding families.

Each item in the collection contributes to our understanding of how Mississauga has grown and changed over time. Together, these materials preserve community memory and help us share stories with future generations.
