COOKSVILLE BIA
Established in 2020, the Cooksville BIA is Mississauga’s youngest Business Improvement Area, located within one of the city’s most historic and culturally rich communities.
As one of Mississauga’s oldest business districts, Cooksville has long been known for its vibrant mix of ethnic shops, restaurants, and services that attract visitors from across the GTA and southern Ontario.
Stretching along Dundas Street from Confederation Road to Cawthra Road, and along Hurontario Street from the GO Rail lands to King Street, the Cooksville BIA represents over 650 businesses and is the largest ethnic business district in Mississauga.
Working in partnership with local businesses, residents, and the city, the Cooksville BIA is committed to creating a vibrant, welcoming, and safe community. Our focus is on supporting “Shop Local, Dine Local”, while enhancing the area through beautification, safety and security, marketing initiatives, and signature events such as the annual Taste of Cooksville Street Festival.
The BIA is managed by dedicated Staff and a volunteer Board of Directors made up of local business and property owners and supported by our local Councillor. Together they work to make Cooksville BIA a thriving business district that reflects the diversity, resilience, and pride of our community.
Cooksville is more than the Four Corners at Hurontario and Dundas, it is the Heart of Mississauga. We invite you to explore what makes Cooksville truly unique!
MALTON BIA
The Malton BIA was made official on December 12, 2012 through a by-law at Mississauga City Council. The Malton BIA is the fourth BIA in the City of Mississauga and will work to replicate the success of the Streetsville, Port Credit and Clarkson BIAs. Our mission as a business entity is beautification and revitalization of the Malton business area.
PORT CREDIT BIA
The Port Credit BIA is a people-driven and people-powered organization which was formed in 1977 by a group of business owners with a vision that many say has come to fruition. Port Credit today is a vibrant waterfront community, brimming with history, culture and personality. With its small town charm and big city amenities, Port Credit is often referred to as the Jewel in the Crown of Mississauga.
Our business community is very diverse and boasts over 400 unique businesses. We have terrific shops of all kinds from clothing, books, music and giftware to health foods and home decor. Fast becoming the City’s Entertainment District, our many restaurants, cafes and patios offer food and drinks from all over the globe, and live music 7 days a week. The Port Credit BIA has a full range of well established professional services that include legal, medical, financial, travel, internet and a growing variety of health and well being centre’s.
Without the many volunteers who attend meetings, organize special events, make phone calls, and whatever else we require of them, the Association would not be as successful as we are in implementing the many programs that promote Port Credit as a vibrant, exciting place to live, work, and play.
The Port Credit Business Improvement Association is managed by a Board of Directors and committees comprised of local business owners and our area Councillor for the City of Mississauga. The ultimate goal of the BIA is to provide an environment that supports the role of the area as a place for shopping, dining, entertainment and financial and professional services.
STREETSVILLE BIA
The Streetsville BIA was formed in 1979 by local business owners, and since then has grown to include all of the businesses in the Streetsville area that fall into the dedicated BIA boundaries.
The Streetsville BIA’s mission is to maintain and promote a vibrant business community within the historic Village of Streetsville dedicated to serving the needs of local businesses and residents.
The Streetsville BIA falls under the direction of a volunteer Board of Management who meets monthly to deal with a full range of agenda items that impact Streetsville. Standing Committees meet on a regular basis and Ad Hoc Committees are struck as required.
