The Robinson-Adamson House, known as “The Grange,” is a historic cottage dating back to c.1828. Since its restoration in 1982, it has served as a community hub—first as a home for Scouts Canada until 2004, and for the past 20 years, as the headquarters of Heritage Mississauga. Over this time, Heritage Mississauga has transformed The Grange into a resource centre, hosted events, and developed heritage programming for the city.

The grant enabled critical improvements to enhance accessibility and create a more welcoming space for guests and clients. Renovations included new lighting for the stairway to the lower hall, main hall, parking lot, and washrooms, as well as the installation of air dryers. A fully upgraded kitchen with improved storage was also completed.

Since the renovations were finished in February, we have hosted two art shows and welcomed a new client who has booked monthly events. The upgraded facility has also attracted a two-week summer art camp. With these improvements, we can actively promote The Grange’s enhanced amenities, encouraging greater public use. These upgrades will help us reach our goal of increasing the facility’s use for meetings, gatherings, and arts programming, strengthening its role as a community hub.

Make Your Events Historic At The Grange

Heritage Mississauga offers a unique space for your events, meetings and celebrations. Your guests will enjoy the welcoming environment of The Grange where modern amenities meet the past in the historic Robinson – Adamson House.

The conference room known as “The Gathering Place” provides a corporate meeting place surrounded by images and artifacts representing the history and heritage of Mississauga.

Our beautiful Debbie Hatch Discovery Centre Gallery provides a prestigious and warm space. Guests can enjoy a current exhibit or gather around the large fireplace. The gallery is an excellent location to host holiday parties, family celebrations or group meetings.

The Grange is located on a scenic acre of land which is ideal for wedding or family portraits in our beautiful gardens.
