Hawkins' Corners

Hawkins’ Corners was located around the intersection of Eglinton Avenue and Tomken Road. John Hawkins first settled here in the 1820s. The hamlet developed around a church, school, blacksmith shop, carpenter shop, general store, Orange Lodge, inn and tavern. Most prominently, this crossroads hamlet was home to Major Samuel Price and the prominent Price family. Hawkins’ Corners has disappeared from the modern landscape.
