Equinox Sunrise Ceremony
Welcome Spring Sunday March 20th, 2011

We invite everyone to join us for an Equinox Sunrise Ceremony led by Métis Elder Joe Paquette on Sunday March 20th, 2011 at Sunrise at the Robinson-Adamson Grange,
1921 Dundas St. W. (one block west of Mississauga Road)

On this morning, which is the official beginning of Spring, we give thanks to the Creator for the great gifts of life, intelligence, free will and intuition.  We give thanks for the gifts of sight, hearing, smell, taste, voice and song and for the ability to feel. We give thanks to our Earth Mother for giving us everything we need to live a good life - the food, the water, the animals and the air that we breathe. For all of these, we are grateful.

Where:  Robinson-Adamson Grange
               1921 Dundas St. W. Corner of Sir John’s 
               Homestead and Dundas Street.
               (One block west of Mississauga Road)
Time:    Gather at 6:30am,  fire lit at 6:30am ceremony begins 6:45am

Refreshments will be served after the ceremony.

Join us on Saturday February 26th from 1pm-4pm for this FREE Workshop on Genealogy.  Sponsored by the Halton Peel Branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society and Heritage Mississauga this workshop has something for everyone.  Are you searching for people in Ontario? Heritage Mississauga Founding Member Passes

Heritage Mississauga is saddened to announce the passing of one of our founding members, strong heritage advocate, and distinguished patron.

Arthur Grant Clarkson, 1915 - 2011, passed away at Credit Valley Hospital on February 6, 2011. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Janet (Johnston) in 2004. Survived by his children Barbara (Lee Sims), David (Faith) and Philip (Nancy); grandchildren Durham (Michelle), Preston and Carly Sims, Mark, Dana (Randy Benson) and Meghan (Scott Boulton), Courtney and Ashley. Great-grandchildren Corbin Bodin and Keelin Sims, William and Alice Benson, Ben and Jake Boulton.

Grant was a very active member of the Mississauga community throughout his whole life, including Heritage Mississauga, Peel Museum and Art Gallery, ErinoakKids, CVCA and Streetsville United Church. He also enjoyed a political career starting with Toronto Township Council and carrying through to the council for the Town of Mississauga.

Visitation at Lee Funeral Home at 258 Queen Street south in Streetsville from 7:00-9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 8. Service will be held at Streetsville United Church, 274 Queen Street South, Wednesday, February 9th at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Credit Valley Hospital.
